KARACHI:

The Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) has cancelled the 2nd South Asian Netball Championship as the Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) failed to issue NOCs to the participating countries, informed PNF secretary Mudassar Arain.

The championship was first planned for June in Islamabad but was rescheduled for December. However, further delay in issuing NOCs has led to the cancellation of the event.

"The teams who had confirmed and sent their documents were Sri Lanka, Maldives, Nepal and defending champions India, but due to security reasons the IPC did not issue NOC's to any of the teams," said Arain.

"We have decided to cancel the championship, which was being revived after 12 years, as there is no chance that we can get the NOCs now."
